AXIS – The Platinum Sponsor of The PMI 2023 Pharma Summit

AXIS Consulting was proud to be the Platinum Sponsor of The PMI 2023 Pharma Summit which took place on Thursday the 30th of March in the Croke Park Conference Centre, Dublin.

The theme of this event was “Partnering to Improve Human Health” and was explored from 4 key vantage points which include: Technology, Government, Cross Company and Intra Company.

This inaugural event saw a number of prominent speakers and panellists speak at this event including representatives from the National Centre for Pharmacoeconomics (NCPE), the Health Service Executive (HSE), the Irish Pharmaceutical Healthcare Association (IPHA) and the Irish Heart Foundation.

At the event, AXIS offered significant contributions to the topics that took place on the day which includes AXIS CEO, Brenda Dooley and AXIS Associate Director, Marian Hernon. Additionally, AXIS was a key exhibitor at the event too.

Marian Hernon, represented the company and delivered an address to the delegates of the PMI Summit as Platinum Sponsors of the event.

In her speech, Marian highlighted the importance of supporting events that encouraged and fostered mutual stakeholder understanding to ensure enhanced patient access to innovative medicines in Ireland.

Later in the day, AXIS CEO, Brenda Dooley chaired an important panel discussion on “Creating Optimal Stakeholder Partnerships” with three excellent panellists: Michael O Connell – Country Director Ireland of Biogen & President of IPHA, Padraic O’Brien – Managing Director at Accord Healthcare & Chair for Medicines for Ireland (MFI) and Alison Muir – General Manager at Roche Ireland.

In this panel discussion, Padraic O’Brien addressed the area of medicine shortages and the Irish Reimbursement process. Meanwhile, Michael O’Connell spoke on the key work undertaken by IPHA in the Irish Pharmaceutical Marketspace and highlighted that active partnerships and collaborations are key to enhancing access to medicines in Ireland. Furthermore, Alison Muir provided insight into Roche and its transformation journey and its tailored approach to ensure access and delivery of medicines to patients in Ireland. This session proved to be quite interesting to the PMI delegates.

Team AXIS thoroughly enjoyed contributing to the key talks on the day as well as exhibiting and attending the PMI Summit.

At our stand, Team AXIS was met with a lot of interest in our services for the Irish and the UK markets, where we provide differentiated and high-quality submissions to the NCPE, SMC, NICE and AWMSG. Additionally, it was great to see so many delegates engaged with our fun and competitive game on the AXIS Irish Reimbursement Road Map Game. The game challenged PMI delegates to test their knowledge of the Irish Reimbursement Landscape and secure funding for a medicine in the fastest time. Our winner on the day was Naomi Crowley, Customer Engagement Lead at GSK.
